Surfboard Camp
What: A surfboard maker’s project. For those who want to know the sea differently.
Where: Swell’s Boat Shop in Germantown.
When: Summer 2025: Monday–Friday for two weeks, June 16th–20th and 23rd -27th. 9AM-2:30PM
Who: Eight participants, ages 12–18. No experience necessary.
Why: You’ll have a board you built yourself—and friends to share it with.
Cost: $2600
Project Description
Through a partnership with Grain Surfboards Swell offers a two-week project where participants build their own surfboards - shaping them from Eastern White Cedar.
Each student will develop a practice that hones the body through exercise and meditation, the hands through focused craftsmanship, and the mind through reflection and study of surfing as both play and sport.
Students will take their handmade surfboards home at the close of the project on Friday at 2:30 PM.
